Halloween Countdown - Halloween Hot Wheels Part 2

My last post on the subject hit on the "Halloween Highway" series of car 2 packs put out each year, now we're revving up to the "Fright Cars" series

Starting in 2006 the series started up replacing the Halloween Highway line with a series of single pack cars. The line up included Rigor Motor, Vampyra, 8 Crate, Phantasm, '57 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham, Chevy S-10, '47 Chevy Fleetline and Power Panel.

In 2007 the line shifted gears with single car releases for Wal-Mart of;
Hot Tub, '57 Plymouth Fury, '58 Ford Thunderbird, Classic Caddy, Ford Lightning, Low Carbs, Fright Bike and Zombot

 and also as a 5 pack Target stores exclusive repaint set which consisted of the same cars with different paint schemes

In 2008 Wal-Mart sweetened the rivalry with Target by adding an exclusive chase car to their line, the Invisible Phantasm, an all clear plastic car with the only metal being the rims and axles metal and visible. The line up included;
Shell Shock, Evil Weevil, Cockney Cab II, Fast Fortress, '64 Lincoln Continental, Cyclops and Pharodox.

Target issued the cars in their 5 pack, minus the invisible Phantasm, again with different paint schemes;

2009 Wal-Mart line up consisted of;
The Demon, Sweet Sixteen, Sir Ominous, Pontiac Banshee, Phantom Racer, Vulture Roadster, Ooze Coupe and the Red Baron.

Target's 5 pack consisted of repainted editions of;
The Demon, Sweet Sixteen, Sir Ominous, Pontiac Banshee and Phantom Racer

2010 Wal-Mart singles consisted of;
'59 Cadillac Funny Car, Urban Agent, Phantasm, Low Flow, Torpedo Jones and the Gov'ner

While Target's 5 pack featured;
'59 Cadillac Funny Car, Phantasm, Torpedo Jones, Gov'ner and Rodzilla

What does 2011 hold? Well I'm not sure about Wal-Mart, but Target is back with another 5 pack consisting of;
Ettorium, Cloak and Dagger (glow in the dark version), Fangster, Rigor Mortis and Double Demon

When I learn of the Wal-Mart line up I'll do a separate post....now go hunt these down!!

  1. I'm not a huge Hot Wheels fan, but some of these are REALLY cool. I love the packaging on this series the most, though. :)

  2. Whoah. This is fantastic.
    I might actually take the plunge and pick up the 2011 line-up.

    And I think my favorite is the Shell Shock.

    Nice Post!
