I'm not dead...

 just recovering from being down on the whole monster scene and being Monsterfink. See I've been Monsterfink since the late 90's and a few years back another artist decided to "borrow" my name and character likeness to promote an art show in California (which he shut me out of completely) that was a punch right in the ol' balls. Now I see the name used to promote some sort of convention or film festival assigning my name to a haunted tiki beach party, not that I mind the haunted tiki beach party mind you, but how about some common courtesy with just taking the name. I had to mostly hang up the art career after developing painful arthritis in my hands but I still do some artwork when the hands allow it. Then there's the reminder of my late best friend Frank who was my partner in crime when it came to all things monster and horror. I haven't been to a convention since he passed as it just feels lonely without him, but I do have a work around plan to bring a little Frank with me when I return to the convention circuit soon. So, I've been working on my mood and the sheer amount of monster toys and merchandise out in stores lately has lured my out of my crypt... so spread the word, warn the townspeople... Fink's Drinks - Mocktail Monday - Sparkling Apple Punch

Sparkling Apple Punch

Ingredients

• 2 cups 100% apple cider
• 1 cup cranberry juice
• 1/2 cup fresh orange juice 2 oranges
• 1/2 cup Canada Dry Sparkling Seltzer Water
• Apple slices for garnish
• Orange wedges for garnish
• Cinnamon sticks for garnish

Instructions

1. Add the apple cider, cranberry juice, orange juice and Canada Dry Sparkling Seltzer Water to a large pitcher, stir and add garnishes.
2. Serve chilled.

Fink's Drinks - Mocktail Monday - Witches' Brew

Witches' Brew

6 whole cloves
2 3-inch cinnamon sticks
2-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
1 orange, peel half and reserve remaining peel for garnish
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup sugar
1 (25 1/4-oz) bottle sparkling cider, chilled
1 (32 oz) bottle cranberry cocktail, chilled
1 (1 liter) bottle club soda or seltzer, chilled (flavored orange, if available)
1 cup dark rum (optional)
Hand-shaped ice blocks (see instructions below)

Garnishes
Gummy worms (earthworms)
Licorice rope (veins)
Candy Corn (witches' teeth)
Peeled grapes, frozen (eyeballs)

Combine the cloves, cinnamon sticks, ginger, orange peel, water, and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Then simmer, covered for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to steep for an hour. Strain through a fine sieve and chill syrup.

Combine syrup with remaining liquid ingredients (except rum) in a punch bowl. Add ice and serve with orange peel garnish and candy as desired.

Fink's Drinks - Mocktail Monday - Candy Corn Punch

Candy Corn Punch

Ingredients:

• Ice
• 1/3 part Crush orange soda
• 1/3 part yellow Gatorade
• 1/3 part zero calorie lemonade Vitamin Water

Directions:

1. Fill your cup/pitcher/whatever you are using up to the very top with ice.
2. Pour the orange soda in first until you’ve filled about 1/3 of your glass.
3. Next, slowly pour the Gatorade directly on top of the ice and let it trickle down on top of the orange soda until it fills 2/3 of your glass.
4. Finally, slowly pour the lemonade on top of the ice and let it trickle down on top of the Gatorade. 

*Note: Take care not to stir this drink or it won’t work.

Funko Reaction Game of Thrones figures

I'll admit I was late arriving to the Game of Thrones fan base and as a result several figure lines have passed me by, so I am ecstatic over this new line. Coming in at 3.75" retro size these will be easy and cool to display. A Wall display/playset is also planned. Here's hoping there's a plan to add the dragons.
